The joys of being a great Boss!

Just a quick post today..when I was last on Create and Craft TV, I demonstrated a Word Book creation that I had made which caused much laughter in Teapot Studios..

Now..I thought that this was a perfect word book that Corrina could give to me in the future to thank me for being such a wonderful employer.  But it seems that she didn't agree with me!  I can't believe it..and there was I thinking I was saving her sometime!  Oh well it's obvious you just can't get the staff these days!!

The word book was made using the Bubbly Funk Collection from Colour Me Happy craft CD. I hope you appreciate seeing it more than my Business Manager did!!

Get Well Soon Sam !

You may have seen my Create and Craft show last week where I was demonstrating cards that could be made with my latest craft CD Colour Me Happy.  Unfortunately, I think there has been a little too much stress been put on my latest CDs about the word book generators that are included on them..of course I love them and so do my customers but..theres loads of other stuff on the CDs as well so I thought I'd take the opportunity to show that when I made my Get Well Soon elephant card..

Shaped cards are pretty hot in the crafting world at the moment and by using the elephant digi stamp included on the Colour Me Happy CD I was able to create this A5 size card really easily.  I used papers from the Jovial Man paper collection as the card was for Corrinas little boy Sam, who was in hospital last week..all very worrying but everything turned out fine, and I wanted it to be in colours right for a boy.

You see with just a little thought there are loads of things that you can do with the digi stamps on both my latest craft CDs Dreams Come True and Colour Me Happy..if you have them, take another look, if you haven't why not give them a try by visiting www.funkyhand.com  postage and packing is free to anywhere in the world so you are only paying for what you buy not the getting it to you!

The Wedding of the year!

A couple of weeks ago I showed you the card I had created for my cousin Katies wedding to the lovely Chris.  I was sorting through the images on my camera and I realised that there were some fun pictures of the day that I thought I'd share with you all..so no crafting today I'm afraid to say, just pictures of my scary family!

Firstly I thought I'd share a picture of why we were all there, the lovely Katie and Chris with their parents..

Now here is a picture you don't get to see very often, it's me and my brother Gary..now if you have ordered anything from www.funkyhand.com that was delivered to you then he's the one you have to thank for the fab service as Gary is the Funky Hand Dispatch Manager..thanks alot Gaz you do a fantastic job!

My parents have always been completely behind me with Funky Hand infact with anything that I have done in my life so it's nice to introduce them to you..oh and it's my Moms fault I craft as she started me off on the crafty road !!

How could not include at picture of the most important techie in Funky Hand, and in my life? Here's Ian being cool and me not treating him with the 'respect' he was commanding!

We had a wonderful day seeing Katie and Chris married and being with all of our family. Some we see all the time and others we haven't seen for years.  To close this post here is a 'lovely' picture of me towards the end of the evening, after one or two Vodka and diet cokes.. Cheers!

I'll be back with some crafting later in the week, speak again very soon.

Ha Ha! I knew we would get her....

Since Corrina joined Funky Hand as my Business Manager she started off saying she 'didn't craft'  Well being so close to my stash day after day has finally broken her and now she is getting right into it!  I thought I would share a card she made last week for her childrens nursery who received an 'outstanding' result in their recent OFSTED assessment.  They loved it and have it on display in the nursery, much to Corrinas embarrasment! I think it's great though..

She made it using a gingham paper and apple Digital Stamp from my CD Colour Me Happy.

You may remember that it was Corrinas Birthday last week..well we actually did treat ourselves to celebrate by buying some of the fancy (and highly over priced!) cupcakes from the fabby Clock Tower Cafe that is on the same site as our Teapot Studios..

They were truly scrummy and they didn't last very long I can tell you!!

Happy Wedding Day!

Today is a day I've been looking forward to for ages..my Cousin Katie is getting married!  I've scheduled this post of course as we will be travelling down to the Midlands in order to attend the wedding but I am proud to say that I didn't leave making the card to the last minute like I normally do!  I have made a little bit of a whimsical card for this wedding and I hope that Katie and Chris like it as much as I liked making it!!

The papers are all from my wedding download collection I Do but the love birds are digital stamps from my CD Colour Me Happy.  I gave the birds legs made out of black covered craft wire which I just curled into feet at the ends.  As the birdies were going to be dressed up I decided to keep the background pretty plain as I thought there was plenty going on already!!

It took me ages to tie the ribbon around the groom birdies neck to make his bow tie but that's what happens then you try to do things with one and a half hands!!  The finishing touch I felt was to give them both googly eyes!

Katie and Chris, her very lucky soon to be husband, are a wonderful couple, in this day and age it is so lovely to see a couple so very much in love. Ahhh... get me getting a fuzzy.. hopefully by now I'll really be getting fuzzy on the champagne toasts.

Have a wonderful day Katie and Chris and enjoy the rest of your lives together.
Speak to you all very soon.

Another Birthday..but not just anyone..

No, it's not just anyones birthday today..it's my dear old Moms birthday (oops I doubt if she will like me calling her 'dear old'!!)  It's always hard to make cards for my Mom as she is an avid crafter and card maker herself and so I always feel a bit of pressure to make something interesting and try new things...

So, with this card I used my unused I Top brad maker to make matching brads for the centres of the flowers..to say I had a bit of a tough time doing it may be an understatement as I was messing with them for over half an hour just to make three brads!!  I have to admit I perhaps shouldn't have used printed card rather than paper but..after some banging of my head on the craft table I got them made!!

The card is pretty simple in design but I wanted to use the bright striped papers so just keeping everything else simple lets them stand out!!  The striped papers and matching spotty one for the flowers are from my CD Rom Funky Word Books  I just didn't make a word book I used the additional papers included with the collection.  I used a black Sakura glaze pen to doodle around the stripy sections, a technique that one of my DT members Lythan excels at..I think I need a bit more practice to be up to her high standard but she definately inspired me for this card.  Finally I just added a simple sentiment...

Hopefully my Mom is having a fab birthday and this card has added a little to the brightness of her day..see you at the weekend Mom!

We'll speak again very soon

It's Corrina's Birthday !

Happy Birthday to Corrina, my best friend, my business manager and the person who can make me laugh out loud even when I'm really mad!  Thank you for being so fabby and I hope you have a wonderful day!

I made Corrinas birthday card covertly so she didn't get to see it in the office..hopefully she has opened it now so it wont matter that I'm showing it to you now!!

This card was made using papers and digital images from my latest CD Rom release Colour Me Happy.

I coloured the flowers on the topper in with Sakura Glaze pens and then layered the central section by printing it again onto matching spotty card.  The sentiment was added using my big favourites All Mixed Up Rubons by Doodlebug.

I hope she is having a fabby birthday and it just gets better and better during the day, big kisses to her.

I'll be back very soon with more cards that I've made, seeing as I have been on a card making frenzy recently!!!
