A special Nana card..

I don't make cards for other people, for them to send, very often these days as I just don't have the time but of course there are always special people that I relax my refusals for and one of those people is my best friend Corrina. Her Mother celebrated her 60th birthday this week and I pulled together this card especially for Corrinas lush little ones Alana and Sam to send to their Nana on her special birthday..

I made it using the Positively Kiddies word book collection from my last craft CD Funky Word Books. Rather than creating a full word book I just made a two page book and added the first three letters to the front page and the second page had the final A on it.

The last few days we have been working really hard getting all the boring aspects of running a business up to date like accounts etc..so I'm looking forward to getting back to my designing for the new CD release and a new download collection or even two for October. Hope you are all having a great weekend. Oh, and remember there are only a few more days left to get your entries in for this months Get Funky! challenge don't let that £20.00 Funky Hand voucher prize slip through your fingers, get over there now and find out what you need to do to take part !!

I know, I know..I'm a bad blogger!

It's been far too long since I have been here..I've got lots of excuses why, but you know what, I'm not going to bore you with them ! I'll just say that I will mark myself with a 'could do better' comment..like when you were at school!

Anyway whilst I've been absent from here I have been getting a little bit of crafting done but mainly I have been working, along with my wonderful, techie other half, on the new Funky Hand CD. I am so excited about it and I can't wait to be able to share it with you but it's not ready yet..so I'll just have to wait.

Ians Grandma had a birthday earlier in the month, the grand old age of 96 bless her, and in true 'Anice' style I left making the card to the very last moment. I left it so late that basically it was put in the post with the glue barely dry (I am truely ashamed!) As last moment cards usually are, I used papers that I had lying around on my craft desk and they were papers from one of my latest Christmas download collections 'Tis the Season. A birthday card with Christmas papers? I hear you cry..well I'll let you decide if you think I got away with it but she loved the card and I think it proves that you can use the papers for more than just a Christmas word book card!

Oh, before I go don't forget that we are quickly heading towards the end of the month and your chance to enter into the September Challenge over on my Design Teams Challenge Blog Get Funky! On the 1st of October a new challenge will be launched so get your entries in now for this month for a chance to win £20.00 to spend on my website www.funkyhand.com.

New Xmas Word Books Launched

I'm pleased to let you all know that we have launched two new downloadable word book collections on our website www.funkyhand.com today. I have received so many requests from customers to create you some Christmas themed word books that I couldn't leave you wanting any longer!

The two collections are very different. Blue Christmas is well..blue and will give your word book creations a contemporary feel. 'Tis the Season on the other hand was created with more traditional Christmas colours..but it still has a bit of a Funky Hand twist to the paper designs so it's not too traditional!!

Go and take a look on the website on the galleries attached to each of the sales pages at the fabby books and cards my wonderful Design Team members have created and let them inspire you. There will be more added soon as I have to admit being so busy working on designs for the new CD-Rom that I haven't made my contribution to the galleries. Slapped hands Anice! Thank goodness my Design Gang are so on the ball..big kisses to them for saving my bacon!!

Oh and before I go don't forget to join in with this months challenge at Get Funky! we've had some fab entries so far. You have until the end of the month to join in and don't forget there's £20.00 worth of Funky Hand products for the winner each month.

Such a sweetie!

I don't get much time or have the space available to scrapbook traditionally so digital scrapping has always been a good option for me. I thought I would share a quick page that I made using a picture of Steffi, my god daughter, on a recent holiday that she took with her family. She is one little sweetie and this picture just sums her up!

I used papers from my Minty Madness download collection and added a few pink swirls to tie in her hat in the picture.

I'll be back very soon to tell you about the new Christmas word book downloads and when they will be released.

A little sneak peek..

I promised I had been working hard getting some new Christmas word book downloads ready for release in the very near future and now they are finished. So, it's my wonderful design team members that are now working hard getting great examples made to show you what can be done with the new downloads. Here's a couple of little sneaky peeks at what they have been doing..

I'm all excited about sharing the new collections with you but I have to be patient, not my strongest trait!! I'll be back very soon with more details of the new collections and when they will be released.

In the mean time, while you are waiting, why not pop over to our challenge Blog Get Funky! and join in with Septembers challenge which has been set by our fabby Ruth. Don't forget theres a prize of £20.00 worth of Funky Hand vouchers to be won..and I have new products to release, why not get them for free and have some fun at the same time?! See you over there!

A minty birthday card

It was my friend Vics birthday on Bank Holiday Monday so I got the chance to try out the new Sizzix die that I bought when I visited my parents a couple of weeks ago.

It is a jigsaw die, one i've had my eye on for a while but just hadn't got around to buying. I just printed two papers from my download collection Minty Madness and cut out the shapes and then swapped the pieces around alittle. I did orginally cut three papers but it looked better with two so expect to see a stripey jigsaw sometime in the future on another creation!!

The sentiment is a stamp that I purchased ages ago and haven't used before by an American company called Pink Paislee, it's from their Office Lingo stamp collection. I bought them from Craft Obsessions. I think I will be using it again as it fits for so many situations.

The topper is a stamp from one of my fav companies Stamping Bella. I just used chalks to colour the girls in as I wanted it to be quite neutral and gentle.

It's the usual madness here at Funky Hand Towers but with an added ingredient as Ian has taken the whole of September off to work with Funky Hand! We are working very hard on getting the new CD release ready..I'm sooooo excited about it as it's going to knock your socks off when you see it!

Also to prove that I do listen to what my customers say and ask for I will be bringing you details very soon of two new Word Book download releases..Christmas themed ones. I'll be back with more info very soon.

There can only be one winner and it was really hard to choose someone as everyone was so good..to see who was the winner for August pop over to Get Funky! While you are there you will also see this months new challenge for September.

The wonderful Ruth has taken over this month and she's set us a little toughie to get us all really thinking! So Ruth what do we have to do?

My challenge is to make a boy themed card, layout, project or what ever you fancy as long as it is aimed at a boy and uses a Funky Hand paper or extra.

Well here's what I came up with..

Both cards are made with Winter Collections from my Funky Seasons CD

Ruths boys both have a birthday this month so that's where the inspiration for this challenge has come from. So get making those boy themed cards and have a chance of winning £20.00 worth of Funky Hand products. You have to be in it to win it as they say!!
