It's Corrina's Birthday !

Happy Birthday to Corrina, my best friend, my business manager and the person who can make me laugh out loud even when I'm really mad!  Thank you for being so fabby and I hope you have a wonderful day!

I made Corrinas birthday card covertly so she didn't get to see it in the office..hopefully she has opened it now so it wont matter that I'm showing it to you now!!

This card was made using papers and digital images from my latest CD Rom release Colour Me Happy.

I coloured the flowers on the topper in with Sakura Glaze pens and then layered the central section by printing it again onto matching spotty card.  The sentiment was added using my big favourites All Mixed Up Rubons by Doodlebug. 

I hope she is having a fabby birthday and it just gets better and better during the day, big kisses to her.

I'll be back very soon with more cards that I've made, seeing as I have been on a card making frenzy recently!!!

Happy Birthday Get Funky! Challenge Blog

Can you believe that we are into August already!  Where are the months going I ask myself? Though, a new month means only one thing around here..yep it's time for a new monthly challenge over on the Funky Hand Design Team Challenge Blog Get Funky!

But it's a bit of a special month this time as it's our 1st birthday! So, I've decided that there will be a birthday gift for everyone who enters this months challenge in the shape of a special download at the end of the month..the only thing is you MUST follow all the rules for the challenge to get the pressie so please make sure that you read our challenge blog rules!

This month Dolly is our challenger and she has set us a challenge to use a pocket on your creation.  Now you can work this into your entry any way that you like.  I've been a good girl this month and got my challenge card made on time (no slapped wrists for me this month!)  I've gone for a..wait for it..Christmas card!  Me making a Christmas card in August? Madness, but..I was working on a new download for Christmas so I've used some papers from that..

My pocket has ended up looking more like a plant pot but..I promise it is a pocket and that candy cane can come out..if I wanted it to!  The papers I have used are from a new download collection I'm working on called 'All I want for Xmas' I'll let you know when it's available on my website..it wont be too long.

The start of Birthday season has arrived!

Wow! You wouldn't believe how many birthday cards I have had to be making recently..Everyone I know seems to have been born around this time of the year!

I thought I would share a card today that I made for Ians Moms Birthday that was last week and I haven't had a chance to share with you before now. It was a special birthday but I decided that I didn't want to have the special age number on show all the time. So, I followed a 'card school' tutorial I found in Quick Cards Magazine number 77 for a spinning suspension card. It was fun to make and pretty straight forward, the spinning square is suspended using dental floss..so this card was minty fresh!!

The papers and images are all from my latest craft CD Rom release Colour Me Happy.  This is a close up of the suspension square twisted one way...

See it was a special birthday! The numbers were made using the extras on the CD Rom.Here's a closer look at the other side which is a digi stamp from Colour Me Happy coloured in using Sakura Glaze pens.

She seemed to really like it so that's what is important and she had a lovely day hanging out with the family and her friends.

I've been making so many cards recently that I won't be so slow in getting back here soon to share another one.
Oh and before I go, don't forget it's almost the end of the month so you still have a couple of days to join in with this months Get Funky Challenge and be in with a chance of winning a £20.00 voucher to spend on my website www.funkyhand.com  The new challenge will be launch on 1st August.

Just a very quick post this morning to say a very BIG thank you to all the lovely ladies who have taken the time to apply for my Design Team call out.  I really appreciate all your time and effort and wanted to say thank you all here publically.  The call out is officially closed now so I can get on with the hard job of choosing new Funky Hand Gang members..well I'd best stop chatting and get on with it then I suppose! 
I'll be intouch with everyone who has applied individually, hopefully before the end of the weekend.  Once again thanks everyone.. you all make me feel so excited about the Funky Hand DT and stuff that will be happening in the future with Funky Hand as a business.

Oh and whilst I'm here don't forget that Saturday is the last day to get your entries in for this months challenge over at Get Funky.  A new challenge will be launched on Sunday 1st August by our lovely Dolly. Wanted: New Funky Hand Design Team Members

Would you like to join our design team here at Funky Hand? We are looking to recruit a few new team members and it could be you..

What do I need to do?  We hear you ask!

Well, on your blog put a post which includes a couple of your favourite cards that you have created and link back to this 'Wanted' post, then leave us a message here so we can pop over and visit your blog and see your fav creations. Don't worry, you examples don't have to be made with Funky Hand papers if you don't have any available, just show us the work you are proudest of.  Then use the Funky Hand contact us page to send us a message telling us a bit about yourself and why you would like to join our team. (We think that side of things is a bit more personal so lets keep it that way!)

What's in it for me? you are quite rightly thinking..

The Funky Hand Design Gang have been together for just over two years and we are lucky enough to have a collection of some of the most talented card makers around involved.  You will receive free advance copies of all our craft CD releases and Download collections which you then get to play with before anyone else! Your card and craft creations will be showcased on my website www.funkyhand.com in the relevant galleries and they will also be shown on our live craft shows on Ideal World TV and Create and Craft TV.  We are planning some very exciting additions to the Funky Hand brand portfolio over the next year so you will be involved first hand with working with these new products as they are launched. We also regularly have opportunities for design team members to create card designs for us to go into all the major craft magazines.

This design team is a very friendly, supportive, talented group of crafters...does that sound like something you would like to be involved in? If the answer is yes, then we want to hear from you!

If you would like to apply please leave a message here with your blog post link and get in touch by Wednesday 28th July and we will make a decision at the end of that week. (We have a live Create and Craft TV show with the latest CD release Colour Me Happy on Friday 13th August so you could be seeing your creations live on TV if you are successful)

We are really looking forward to seeing all of your creations and we know the rest of the design team are as well. So, get posting, we need some new Funky Hand gang members!!

Sorry for being so quiet...

I have to apologise for falling back into my naughty ways of not blogging as often as I should..will you forgive me?


It's very busy here at Teapot Studios after the release of our new craft CD Rom Colour Me Happy on Create and Craft TV and then the launch on my website www.funkyhand.com   Thank you to everyone who has purchased the CD so far and sent me such lovely messages..you are all the BEST!

As well as releasing the CD, we are also working on about five other projects at the moment which are all very exciting and very crafty..but I can't tell you anything about them just yet..I'm afraid I'm going to keep you hanging on for a while longer.  But it will be worth it I promise! (She says with her fingers crossed hoping that you will agree!) Poor Corrina doesn't know which way to turn we have so many things happening all at the same time..along with the dreaded VAT return, it all adds up to a pretty exciting ,even frenzied, time!

I'm afraid I don't have any creations to share with you today but with Ians Mothers and my Moms birthdays coming up and my Cousin Katies wedding a couple of weeks away I will have to get my crafting head on and get making..I'll share them with you as they are completed!!

Before I sign off today I just want to remind you about the Get Funky! Getting ready for the new CD release..

It's all go here at Teapot Studios as we get ready for the launch of our brand new craft CD Colour Me Happy on our website. There is a countdown to the launch on Saturday 10th July at 12 noon already ticking away on the homepage which has caused lots lovely messages from everyone so I wanted to say thank you to you all.

You may have been aware that I did a pre-launch show on Create and Craft TV on Monday morning, which went down pretty well and I thought I would share pictures of the cards that I demonstrated on the show just in case you didn't get a chance to see them.. The first one is a word book which is very appropriate as it says 'I love to BLOG'

The second one was my first attempt at an easel card which turned out quite well I think considering that!  I used one of the new digi stamps from the CD as the topper.  Cats are my favourite so this digital stamp will be used alot in the future I imagine!!

As I am sitting here Corrina is working away on her own crafting masterpiece so, if she lets me, I'll take a picture when she's finished and share it here with you sometime in the near future.

Launch of my new craft CD 'Colour Me Happy' !

I'm really pleased to be able to finally let you know that my new craft CD Colour Me Happy is now ready to be released.  I will be doing the initial launch on the Create and Craft TV channel on Monday 5th July Live at 10am.  Join me then, if you can, to see all the new papers, digital stamps and Word Books and not forgetting the wonderful creations that my Design Team have made this time around.  As usual those fabby girls NEVER let me down and they have made some fantastic stuff!!  I'll be stumbling through a few card demos and showing you around the new CD ROM so please try to take a look.  It will be available to purchase from Create and Craft from Monday but we wont be launching the product on our website www.funkyhand.com until 12 noon Saturday 10th July.

I can't wait for you all to see the new CD..best get back to getting ready for the live show Monday.

Get Funky! Challenge Time again!

Another month has gone .can you believe how fast this year is speeding by?..so it's time for a brand new challenge over on my Design Teams challenge blog Get Funky!

This month Ruth is in charge and her challenge is for you to create something 'New'  New Baby, New Home ..anything that you like actually.  I've been really busy this month so I am ashamed to say I haven't added a card yet..later in the month I promise!.  To give you a little taster here is a card from Ruth, made with papers from The Funky One CD

and a wordbook from Dolly using papers from my soon to be released new CD Rom Colour Me Happy (there's the reason why I've been so busy this month!!)
