I have discovered ATCs (Artist Trading Cards) and I have been having fun creating some to swap on one of the forums that I am a member of. I thought it would be hard to create anything with such a small area to work on, but it turned out to be really interesting. I have so many bits and pieces in my craft room that are really too small for normal card making but work perfectly on an ATC, here's a few examples:

I used papers from my CDs Funky Seasons and The Funky One

This looks like something I will be getting addicted to!

April already, where is this year going? It must be because I am getting older, time seems to be going faster! When I was a child the summer holidays lasted a lifetime, now three months is gone in a blink of an eye. With thoughts of time going by so quickly I have been catching up on my digital scrapbooking here are a few pages that I pulled together recently,

This is my friends little girl enjoying her first Christmas, dressed as a snowman!! The papers used are from my CD 'Yule Be Funky'

This is Ian my other half and I on holiday a couple of years back. The papers used are from CD It's Funky Too

Sad I know but I love my little Smart Roadster, and it's never been as clean as this again! The papers used are from my CD The Funky One

Thanks for visiting!

I have been busy as usual with orders for the CDs and papers but I have found time to make a few cards with papers from Funky Seasons

I have a long list of cards that I need to make, the most important being one for my partner Ian who's celebrating his birthday next week. I have been thinking and thinking what I can put on a special card for him, and I think I have finally come up with an idea. Once he has had his birthday I will post it here, otherwise he will probably see it!!

It is amazing how excited I get these days over the most mundane of things, I have just got a fax machine, wow! I hear you say but I am so pleased with it that I keep faxing people things instead of emailing them! I am sure the shine will go off it soon and I will find something else to be my new favourite thing!

I have started work on my next backing paper collection, more about that when I have a few more ideas! Until next time. x

Hello and welcome..to the Funky Hand mad house!! I am pleased to let you know that we have released our new CD 'Funky Seasons' see it on www.funkyhand.com and it's gone mad! Thank you to everyone who has already ordered the CD the numbers have been overwhelming so I shouldn't be here chatting but getting on with dealing with the emails!! But I just wanted to post a picture of a card I created yesterday, during the calm before the storm, that I think came out really well. I used a paper from 'Funky Seasons' from the Autumn 'American Fall' collection and the wire heart I created from a great book by Julie Hickey about using wire on cards that my parents got me for Christmas last year.
Well that's it for now, speak soon.

Hello! We are fresh back from exhibiting at the Hobby, Craft and Stitch trade only Exhibition at the NEC, Birmingham. It was a great success, but very hard work on the feet! We met some fantastic retailers and I would like to say thank you to everyone who came to say hello, it was great to meet you all! It was Funky Hands first exhibition so it was scary and exciting at the same time. Ian my techie was brilliant over the three days as he had to talk to people about craft when thats not really his thing! He did a great job, I don't think anyone even realised! Now we are back at home and things are not slowing down. I have orders every where getting processed and I have to start my next Cd even before Funky Seasons has actually been launched on funkyhand.com!
The picture is Ian and I standing on our stand waiting for the exhibition to open on the first day.. you can see the tension I am sure!! Well best get back to it..speak soon.

I have been having fun making cards with my new backing papers from my new CD 'Funky Seasons' This card is for my other halfs sister in law over in America. I used the polka dot paper from Autumn - Forest Walk for the backing and used a fab chipboard handbag as a topper. I was really pleased with the effect. Hope she likes it!

Phew! At long last I have almost finished my new CD..so I thought I would give you a little taster of what it contains. This is a small sample of the papers from one of the Spring Collections 'Spring Whispers' lovely fresh pinks and greens. The CD is going to be called 'Funky Seasons' and there are papers based on colours and themes for Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. There are also a few new extras to help with your card making and scrapbook pages like matching Alphabets, tags and even gift bags to co-ordinate everything! It's been fun creating the items for this CD. I will be launching it at the Trade Exhibition, Craft, Hobby and Stitch at the NEC, Birmingham 18th-20th Feb. Our stand is in the Bright Sparks Pavillion stand BS21. Come and say hello if you are attending! It will then be available on www.funkyhand.com Well I have loads to do before the exhibition so I will let you know how it went when we get back.

At long last..my new paper packs are available on Funky Hand digital 'Funky Fellas' and 'Funky Females' are paper packs of co ordinating backing papers printed on high quality (135gsm) acid free paper so they are good for scrapbooking as well as card making. Here is a scrapbook page I made with the papers when I was designing them.

Now I can focus on being excited for exhibiting at the Craft, Hobby and Stitch trade show at the NEC in Birmingham on 18th - 20th Feb. I will be there in the Bright Sparks Pavillion Stand BS21 so if you are attending please come and say Hello! I have loads left to do to get ready and it's all very exciting (and a little scary!!) so I had best get back to it.

Love is in the air here at Funky Hand as I have been designing Valentine cards for the last few days. For Christmas my parents bought me a book about making wire and metal embellishments so I have included some simple designs in these new cards. It's great fun messing with the wire using the different pliers for cutting and bending the wire. The trouble is I could play making the embellishments all day and never make any cards! I have started work on my next CD, so far I have decided on the colour collections and the themes for the extra collections and designed two sets of papers.. a long way to go yet! I had best get back to it I suppose...

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had a great Christmas, I was sunning myself on a Caribbean cruise over the Christmas period far away from the cold weather here in Newcastle. I arrived back yesterday just in time to see the new year in. What will 2007 bring to Funky Hand I wonder? I have lots of exciting things to look forward to. I will be launching my new paper packs (see images in my last post) on my website funkyhanddigital.com in the next week or so and starting work on my new CD release. Everything is full steam ahead for showing at the Craft and Hobby, Stitch trade show at the NEC, Birmingham in Feb, I am really excited about that, meeting new customers and a few old friends no doubt! After my trip away I am completely re-energerised and ready to make 2007 a great year. I look forward to keeping you up dated on how things are going.
