They're getting married in the morning..
..well that's not completely true our friends Andy and Vic actually got married on Saturday 4th August but I'm always late in showing you the cards that I make so what's new?!
So, our closest friends decided to tie the knot and I decided I'd jump in the deep end as well and create my first Digital stamp. It's not for sale yet but as I wanted to share the card I made for the wedding I thought I needed to tell you that the image is mine!!
Here is the card I made for them..
The card base is Kraft card and the papers I used are all from my Wishes & Kisses CD ROM the 'It's the Big Day' collection available on our website www.funkyhand.com right now!
Here's a close up of the digital stamp which I coloured using Promarkers...
The heart is a chipboard one that I have had forever in my stash. I covered it with a paper from the matching collection, sanded the edges to make the paper smooth and then inked it with a little black ink pad. The tied twine was a last minute thought that I think matched the kraft look of the card. It also made it very different from all the other cards that they received on the day!
We had a wonderful day at the wedding, Ian was the best man and both Ian and I were their witnesses which was a great honor. Of course I cried, which I was told off by Vic the Bride for, but you have to cry at weddings right? Especially your friends. I haven't got a decent picture of Ian and I at the wedding just yet, I wore a really big hat which I hired. Once I get one I'll share it with you I promise. So you'll have to just put up with the Bride and Groom after they were married..sniff sniff..
Right, I'll be back soon with details of what we will be offering you over the Bank Holiday weekend on the website so not such a big gap in my Blogging next time!

Left Handed people unite!
I know you can't believe it two blog posts in one day from me! But I had to share with you that today is officially Left Handers Day. The day when we can celebrate being left handed. Ian and I are both left handed so all of our house is set up to accommodate us. It's so funny to see all our right handed friends and family trying to do stuff around there. We always get comments like, our kettle is the wrong way or our toilet roll holders are in the wrong place. All we ever say is 'welcome to our world'..that's what it's like for us everywhere outside of our house..and my studio!!
So if you are left handed.. today is your day. Be proud, we might be the minority but we are the best! In my humble and totally biased opinion of course!!

Get Funky Challenge..how not to do it!
Firstly, I would like to offer my apologies AGAIN for not blogging here very often again. Life in Funky Hand Garden Studio just seems to take over everything ..that includes my life. There have been a few change a rounds, new decisions to make and general madness going on. I know that's pretty much what it's always like here but just double it and you might get an idea of what it's been like. Anyway less of the weak apologies and onto the blogging.
My last post was the beginning of this month Get Funky Challenge and this post is my contribution for the end of it. I made a massive faux par. My card doesn't follow the challenge..I don't know how it happened. I'd had it all planned out the wording was going to be ME 4 YOU so it would include the number that was required without an image. Some how I created Me & You instead, made the card, still didn't notice..took the picture, still didn't notice..messed with the image in photoshop, still didn't notice. Started writing the blog post..ahhhh the penny drops! I didn't have time to create anything else so... the final inspiration card for this months Get Funky Challenge is how NOT to enter ! Here is the offending creation..
What a dummy I am! I'll tell you about the card anyway. I created it using papers from one of the early Papercraft Factory CD releases Colour Me Happy, the collection is called Glad Rags. I have to admit to moving on to the next CD I'm working on that I forget to take a look back at older CDs and Colour Me Happy really has some great stuff on it. As usual I went mad with my black Sakura pen doodling on the square button patterned paper and around the edges of the layers. The main Me&You topper I decided I wanted to add some height to so I used 7mm x 7mm x 3mm foam pads, here's how it looked from the side.
I love to layer up sections of my cards the button/boxes were added with 7mm x 7mm x 1mm foam pads which is a much more subtle look as you can see.
Right, what else has been going on, well there have been two Mums birthdays and I'll share those cards with you later in the week, and the wedding of the year took place on 4th August. I'll let you see the card I created for that soon as well, and maybe even some photos.
On the Funky Hand front there is a new download ready to be launched and we have two live shows on the Create and Craft TV channel coming up this Friday 17th August 10am & 2pm. We have some great prices on all the Papercraft Factory CDs, ones you wont see anywhere else..but I'll tell you about that later in the week. As usual I'm behind with my demo making so, I'd best get on with that and stop chatting with you!
