I have been able to find time this week to join in the dare over at DCM. This weeks dare is from Jane 'For my dare you can choose any theme for the card BUT it must incorporate 'Checks', whether it be gingham paper or ribbon or squares, any thing really as long as it incorporates some kind of shape with 4 equal sides.'
Well my cards colours were inspired by the Dream embellishment which is a chipboard sticker from DCWV's Far East Sticker stack. The backing papers are from my CD Funky Seasons and to finish it off two Prima Flowers. It was nice to work in colours other than pink which has been what I have been doing recently, thanks DCM great dare again.

I have a great afternoon today, I have actually made cards and I really enjoyed doing it! Recently I just haven't had time to make anything other than examples for the website and so making cards actually for people today was really nice! This card is for my friends Corrinas' birthday next week.
The paper is from my first CD The Funky One and the stamp is a cute Bella, painted with H2o paints. The hair is quiet like Corrinas that's why I decided to use it!! I then just chalked the edges of the stamped topper and the layering to grunge it up a bit and layered it at angles. (Means I don't have to try to line them up perfectly!!) To finish off I added three Prima flowers and made a simple wire embellishment with a pearl bead at each end. Now I just have to think about what to buy her for a pressie..going out for a drink tonight with her so I will try to get some ideas..wish me luck! Oh and with the Cherry beer that they sell at the pub as it's a bit of a favourite!!

We have big plans for the next year of trading..new products, updated website amongst lots of other things. But for now I will just get todays orders processed and in the post, maybe I will treat myself to a nice mocha coffee at Starbucks when I go out to buy new printer inks later.. business life goes on!!

Wow! This weekend has been mad. I launched my new CD V.Funky and the orders came flooding in! I'm not complaining at all but my feet haven't touched the floor for days!! On Friday I had a bit of time before the 'Storm' to make a card with a few papers from one of the collections on the CD, these are 'Romantic Moments' thought you might like to see it.
Well no rest for the wicked I am afraid so can't stay long but I am hoping to find some time to make a card for this weeks DCM challenge.. hopefully I can.

I've been busy Digi scrapping again this afternoon and I thought I would share this one with you. It's of my cat Scarlett, I had her for five years she came from the local cat and dog home as a kitten, unfortunately she disappeared one night and never came back about 3 years ago. I still miss her but not enough to get another kitty to replace her as she was always into everything and nothing was safe. This is an old picture of her at my Mom and Dads examining everything in their lounge before she would settle down! The papers are from my new CD V.Funky which is finally finished and will be available on my website www.funkyhand.com over the weekend!! I'm very excited about that!!

I found this old picture of me when I was about three years old and I thought it would make a fun digi scrap page. I am trying to leave spaces on my pages and not fill every little bit with an embellishment..it's hard! The papers used are from my new CD V.Funky
Ian and I were out on the town last night with a few friends. I have discovered Cherry beer that they sell in our current favourite pub and I am sad to say sampled rather too many of them last night! I haven't stopped eating all day! I think another cup of tea and the last muffin might just help make me feel more human!

Back so soon! I have been having trouble with my scanner so I had to wait to put my card up for the Daring Card Makers Card challenge this week.I'm afraid it's not a great scan, the white blur on the side is actually satin ribbon! I have combined the need to make Ians Mother a birthday card and the challenge which was 'Your card can be any theme you like, just as long as it's got something you'd find in a Haberdashery Department on it'
This card has a paper from my third CD It's Funky Too which has a fabric look to it. I used a Prima flower with a Papermania Button at its centre. The ribbon is a left over from a gift I received recently beautifully wrapped with real ribbon. The three stitches are the first sewing I have done since I was about ten (seriously!) hence they are not very straight! The sentiment is from DCWV Chipboard sticker stack, Pocket full of Posies. Off to make an insert for this card now to cover up the terrible stitching mess inside before sending it to Ians Mom!!!
I had to tell someone..I HAVE FINISHED MY NEW CD!! See it here: V.Funky Phew..thanks for letting me get that off my chest! Finally all the designing, deleting (!) and redesigning is over and I handed over the files to my techie this morning. Ian looked decidedly unimpressed and could only venture 'well it took long enough..' men!
Here's another little preview, these papers are from the 'Thyme Blossoms' 'Blue for Boys' and 'Autumn Evening' colour collections on the CD. Well, still got lots to do so I'd best get on with it. Speak soon.

Well this is a first for me. I decided to have a go at the card dare challenge that is over at Daring Card Makers Blog basically I needed to make a card that incorporated text in some way. This card really signifies me at the moment. I am not calling my friends back as I am so busy..if I am not careful I wont have any left!!
The backing paper is from my new CD 'V.Funky' which I will be releasing in the next few weeks on my site The topper is from the same CD with a bit of layering and inked with distressing ink. The Telephone is from Rob and Bobs 'Telephone and Diary' original Sizzix die, cut from some lovely hand made paper that my Mom bought me for Christmas last year. Its finished off with a piece of curled purple wire as the telephone wire. I hope it's OK!

I have been inspired this afternoon to try to use just black and white papers and a colour photo and make a Digital scrap page. Of course all my new photos are of our trip to Rome but this one I thought would make an unusual page. It's the view from our hotel balcony, I just love the blue of the sky against the colours of the buildings. The papers that I have used are from the black and white collection on my CD Funky Seasons just a bit grunged up round the edges.

Me and the Coliseum
I'm back! You may not even have noticed I'd been away..but Ian and I have been away with a couple of friends for five days in Rome. I have never visited Rome before but it was somewhere I wanted to see. The weather was fantastic the whole time and we had to be really careful not to get sunburn. We saw all the usual sites, the Vatican, the Coliseum etc but we also took a day trip to Pompeii which was amazing. Now we have come back down to earth with a bump! Ian has left for work and I am sat here in front of this screen preparing to start getting orders ready that were placed whilst we were off enjoying ourselves!! I think I will just sit here with a cup of coffee, close my eyes and image I am still in Rome..
