More new releases to snuggle up with!

I'm here again telling you about MORE Funky Hand new digital download releases.  I'm on a designing roll at the moment so I don't want to wait to give you only a couple of new things..I want you to see them all!

OK, what have you got for us today Anice?  First up the backing paper collection Fading Beauty,

This paper collection was inspired by the sun bleached colours that you see in lovely hot places.  Not that I see them much here the North East!  The paint work being a bit worn out and flaky and the colours sun bleached.  The Funky Hand Design Team loved using this collection and created some really diverse cards and scrap pages which made me realise that this is a very useful set of papers to have in your stash.  Here's a few examples, you can see them all in the gallery on the Fading Beauty download page on the Funky Hand website www.funkyhand.com

The second release today is a new Georgie digital stamp called Night Night.  I'm really pleased how this stamp has turned out, I was so pleased that I decided to give everyone who purchases it a little extra free.  As well as the usual line drawings I have digitally coloured the stamp and included that in the file as well.  It means that if you don't have time to colour a stamp you can print off a ready coloured one.

So, another release day for you!  I hope you like them.  If you have any questions about these downloads or any of the others don't hesitate to ask them.  Either ask here or send me a message through the Contact Us page on the website.

A forgotten card..

I don't know about you but I don't always remember when I have made cards that have been sent off to their intended recipient.  I don't make cards that much these days so I tend to always take a picture just to remind myself that I do craft!

Well a few days ago I was sorting out pictures on my camera and I found this card.  I don't remember making it.  I can't remember who it was for.

I thought I would share it with you on my blog to show you, and remind me, that I do craft and I should do it more often!

The digital stamp is my Georgie-Where is it? coloured with Promarkers. The papers are from the Wishes and Kisses CD (Moving Home collection)  The sentiment says 'Had a good birthday? You better had!'

I haven't looked at those backing papers for ages, I'd forgotten how much I liked the flower one. I don't think I have mentioned here that all the Funky Hand craft CDs are now permanently reduced in price.  All the Papercraft Factory CDs are £9.99 or less each, reduced from £15.99 and the Original CDs are £3.99 or less each down from £7.99.  If you have gaps in your collections grab them now.  Once the stocks have gone..they wont be available again.  OK, I'm off to see if I have any other pictures of cards I don't remember!

Until next time.

Happy Valentines Day.

Hi everyone, I hope you are having a nice Valentines Day.  I did have new Love themed digital stamps to release earlier in the week..bit late now!

Unfortunately my dog Travis has been ill and this week we have discovered that he has bad elbows and he needs to have operations on them.  A pretty sad house here.  Poor old Travis doesn't understand why his legs hurt and he can only walk for a short while without limping.  He is a VERY energetic dog, running at 100 mph is the only speed he does..except for now. Due to all the vet visits etc we haven't had an opportunity to put the digis up on the website.  They will be included in future releases though, you always need a bit of love on your cards don't you!  Here are a few cards made by my wonderful Design Team using them.

 This is Georgie- Love Banner

A new collection of Coffee takeaways..This one is, I Love You More Than Coffee..

and this one is I Like Coffee..

They will be available very soon so, keep your eyes on your email if you have purchased something before from the Funky Hand website, here on this Blog, on the DT Blog Get Funky & Craft and on the Facebook page.

To finish off this blog post I have to show you a picture of Travis, it was taken a while ago but his face matches the one he has had on all week!

I'll be keeping everyone, who is interested, updated about what's happening with him here. If you are not interested just jump those bits. There will still be some crafting I promise. Hehe!

Layering a Funky Hand digital stamp

Welcome to you all!

Today I thought that I would share a bit more information about my idea for layering one of the Georgie digital stamps 'Georgie Angel' that I posted about over on the Funky Hand Design Team Blog. Get Funky & Craft.  For this creation I messed around with the stamp and created a GSD to cut out the image with my cutting machine.  You don't have to have a cutting machine.  You could just print out the digital stamp image four times and just cut the parts that you want to layer out.

Please remember: Not all digital stamp designers would be happy with you doing this sort of thing so you must remember to check all terms and conditions linked with each stamp.  If it is not mentioned there, it doesn't mean it's OK to do.  Always ask.

OK, here is what I started out with for this project,

As you can see I decided that I wanted to layer her face, the upper part of her body and her hands holding the heart.

I coloured the images in with Promarkers before I cut them out.  Colouring small parts of images when they are already cut out is really hard in my opinion but if you prefer to cut out first please go ahead.

Sorry, that was the perfect opportunity to show off my Promarker collection to you. To say I'm a bit obsessed with them is a little bit of an understatement! I have to admit Ian was a little shocked when he saw them all out on the table.  He says he didn't know I had so many.  I told him I'd had them all ages (wink)

Before I go on, if you have some Promarkers you might like to grab this really helpful free download from Sarah Hurley.

It's a  layout of all the names of the currently available Promarkers (including Limited Editions) with circles to add the pen colour to. Print the download onto the same paper/card that you use for colouring your digital stamps and colour in each of your markers. It will then give you a true coloured effect.  Sarah has laid them out in a really helpful order.  Grab the free download from her website  http://www.sarahhurleydesigns.co.uk/oldshop/prod_2834920-Promarker-Colour-Charts-Updated-for-Winter-2013.html  Please don't just share this freebie with your friends send them over to Sarahs website to grab their own copy.

OK, lets get colouring in Georgie.  I started with her skin and then her hair..

For her skin I used these Promarker colours: Almond, Blush and Dusky Pink.  It actually looks very pale on this picture but it doesn't look so pale in reality.  For her hair I went for a deep brown/auburn. The colours I used were: Tan, Cinnamon and Coco.  I also added a tiny bit of Henna at the darkest places.

Next up is her Angel outfit.  I saw this collection of Promarkers being used for Blonde hair and I thought it would be a good combination as I wanted it light but not just leave it white.  The colours used are: Ivory, Satin and Almond.  For extra shading I used Vanilla.

Here is Georgie all finished.  I wanted a warmer colour for her wings and ballet shoes so decided on pinks.  The colours used are: Antique Pink, Dusky Rose and Budding Rose.  Finally the heart, I wanted a nice vibrant red colour so I used Red Sweater and Ruby.

I decided to colour in each layer of the image as I wanted no white bits showing under the layered stamp, but also, because it was an opportunity to practice the colouring, as the lower levels of the face, upper body and heart wouldn't be in clear view!

Finally here's the finished card I made and a closer look at the layering..

I used 1mm foam pads to layer the head and upper body and 3mm foam pads for the heart.  I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out.

If you have purchased the (or are thinking about it) Georgie Angel digital stamp and would like the GSD I used in this post, send me a message through the Funky Hand website Contact Us page and I will email it to you for free.

All there is left to say is, I hope you all have a very merry Christmas. Just incase I don't get back to post here before the big day.  I'm crossing my fingers that Santa has more Promarkers in his sack for me.  I hope you get all the crafty stash you have asked for.

Speak again very soon.

New release peek..

Hi all,

Here I am again offering you my apologies for not posting on this blog often enough.  I only have the excuse that I have been working away on new digital backing paper and stamp releases.  November is my birthday month and I've decided to make it a big release month.  We are starting this weekend and here is a little peek at what will be available on my website www.funkyhand.com .

I'm really pleased to be able to introduce you to my first 'cute' girl digital stamp character Georgie.  I've been very naughty showing you this little peek as this is a card I made for Creative Cardmaking with Your PC magazine. (oops!)  It wont be for sale until December so I'd best not show you any more or I'll have my hand slapped!

I just wanted to give you a little look..and for you to get the feel for the new backing paper collection also being released on Saturday.  Little Princess.  This collection fits perfectly with Georgie as she has turned out to be a bit of a 'Princess' already hehe! It is pinks, greens and creams with cup cakes and crowns.  Along with the usual spots and stripes.

I'll be back at the weekend to tell you more about the new releases and show you what I have been making with them.

As I've already said November is going to be a big release month for Funky Hand so, look out for more digital stamps and paper packs over the next few weeks.  Oooh  how exciting!!

Speak again very soon,
Anice xx
