New download releases

Woohoo! I'm so excited about telling you about the first of our new craft download releases..I almost forgot to blog this post!  Then again any of you that actually ready this blog will know what a disorganised lass I am.

But here I am in the end letting you know all about them.  This year we are releasing Christmas themed downloads instead of a Christmas CD ROM. I have to admit that I like the instant gratification of a download..a couple of clicks and I have got my crafty hearts desire.  No waiting for the postie to arrive! The over all title for the collections is 'Oh Come All Ye Crafters' and then each download has it's own name.

Today is the release of the Santa Baby craft backing paper collection and Wordbook collection and Christmas Tree backing paper collection and wordbook collection.

Lets have a look at Santa Baby first. The colour pallet is pink, blue and green which is not your usual Christmas colours but what do you expect from Funky Hand? One thing I want to add is that even though all these new collections are titled Christmas downloads there are plenty of backing papers that can be used the whole year around.

There are 15 backing papers and a set of digital ribbons in the collection for £2.49

There are 26 letter pages, the & character and 0-9 number pages  for £3.49

But if you want both,  then you're in for a nice surprise..there's a Santa Baby multibuy option to download both collections for just £4.99

Now for a look at the Christmas Tree backing papers and wordbooks which has a much more traditional colour pallet of reds and greens..

The Christmas Tree backing paper collection is also £2.49

The Christmas Tree wordbook collection is also priced at £3.49

But once again if you would like both collections there is a fab Christmas Tree multibuy option for just £4.99

I hope you like the look of the first two releases from our 'Oh Come All Ye Crafters' collection, there will be six more over the next few days/weeks.

I'll be back very soon to share some cards that my wonderful DT members have created and introduce you to more new downloads..hold onto your hats it's going to be a big old download ride!!

It's the Funky 15th..

..so that means a brand new Get Funky Challenge.  Lou is our Hostess again this month (Goodness I'm working her hard at the moment!) and she has come up with a great challenge called WORDBOOKS. Here is the beautiful scrapbook page that Lou has got us started off with this month, see how she has included a mini wordbook on the page.

Now any of you who own any of my Papercraft Factory CD ROMs will know about the wordbook generators on there but there are also wordbooks on a couple of original Funky Hand CDs, Funky Daze and Funky Word Books (not a tough one to guess there really!!) and there are plenty of Wordbook download collections available in the downloads section on my website www.funkyhand.com

If you don't have access to any of these but would still like to join in with our Get Funky challenge then there is still a way for you to do it.  I have created a Funky Freebie this month that is made up of a full large alphabet so there are four pages to this months Funky Freebie.  The colour of this alphabet fits perfectly with my latest download collection Daisy Day so that could be a way of trying out a download if you have never tried one before.  Download the Funky Freebie so you will spend no money and then if you feel more confident try Daisy Day at only £3.49 or one of my other downloads.

Right that's enough chat for today, I have Christmas downloads to finish to tempt you with in the near future. But do join in with the Get Funky Challenge, it's fun and the Design Team and me love popping over to your blogs and seeing what you have been creating. It's always such fun.

Two Birthdays..two very different cards

Here I am again nearly a week between blog posts..really not good enough Anice.  I'm not going to make excuses that I've been working on new products and researching some really interesting new stuff to come from us and other stash to be added to our website to fire up your crafty mojos. As that just wouldn't be excuse enough now would it.. (wink!)

Right less talking and more crafting I think. Last month I had to make two birthday cards for two Moms..mine and Ians.  They are both very different sorts of ladies, both wonderful in their own way but, with very different tastes and styles.  So, I thought it might be fun to use the same digital stamp on each of their cards but make cards to match them.  So, here are the cards..

Both cards have the same birthday cake digital image on from my craft CD Craft The Year Away.  But they have been coloured in very different colours and put onto different base cards, and created using different backing papers but from the same Papercraft Factory CD ROM Happy Happy Birthday.

The first card was for Ians Mum, I used pale pinks and lemon Promarkers to colour the digital image and then using backing papers from the Happy Happy Birthday CD the Birthday Girl collection.  The card I think, though simple is delicate and understated.

The second card was for my Mom.  My Mom likes dramatic colours so I used much darker Promarkers to colour the digital stamp and added a cheeky sentiment to it!  I also used a kraft base card and then much darker and more intensely coloured backing papers from Happy Happy Birthday using the How Old collection. A bit of doodling also added a fun finish to the card.

I thought it was interesting that just changing the colours that an image is coloured in and the backing papers and base cards used could make two cards so different but with really the same idea and use.

As I remember, both Mothers liked their cards..thankfully I put them in the right envelopes and wrote on the right addresses.  I don't think they would have worked the other way around!!

How to make a 3D grungy flower.

I thought it was time to share another video we made to go with the latest Papercraft Factory CD ROM Wishes & Kisses.  This video is how to make 3D grungy flowers using one of the template masks on the CD.

Now, I had designed this flower mask without showing my Design Team members this video and they had completely different ideas about how to use the template so just because I make grungy looking flowers using it doesn't mean that's all you can do.  This is just one idea.  I hope you enjoy it and it gives you inspiration. Remember you can find this template on the Wishes & Kisses Papercraft Factory CD ROM.
